- Dates: 18th – 30th November 2025

Teddy Oyella will get her first at an ICC tournament after making Victoria Pearls’ cut for the final 14 for the Emerging Nations Cup in Thailand.
The young all rounder has made a case for her selection with some notable performances for the Victoria Pearls at the Kwibuka tournament in Kigali and the Victoria Series with Canada.
The slow spinner won the MVP award in the National Women’s T20 League last year but she has had to wait because players such as Consy Aweko and Sarah Tino were ahead of her in the pecking order.
However, her strong performances have made it difficult to ignore her and she finally gets the nod to make her debut in an ICC event.
Malisa Ariokot and Irene Mutonyi, who finished their final O-level exams, also make the cut for the final 14 and their availability will definitely boost the resources of the team.
Mutonyi has raised her reputation and stake as the opening bowler for the side but she has proved more potent with the old ball at the back end and this allows the captain to have options in games.
Ariokot is a generational talent, and her all round skills will be important for the team. She was given more bowling responsibility in Namibia, and her line and length with extra pace were key in breaking partnerships.
Janet Mbabazi will lead the side with the core of the side remaining intact, and Rita Musamali will be her deputy.
Esther Iloku has enjoyed a fine 2025 season and she will be key at the top of the order if Uganda are to get out of the blocks quickly.
Musamali, Stephanie Nampiina, and Immaculate Nakisuyi will be the go-to players for runs, while Kevin Awino will be required for situations when early wickets fall.
Consy Aweko and Sarah Akiteng are the slow bowling options, with Oyella as their backup plan, while Kevin Amuge has been rewarded for her strong skills with the new ball.
Uganda will have nothing to lose in Thailand but everything to gain because six of the teams in the tournament are ranked ahead of them. If they can pick up wins against teams ranked ahead of them, they will rack up massive points in the rankings.
