Ferroviario da Beira and Dar City took charge of Group B as the Road To BAL Elite 16 Division East tournament got underway on Tuesday at Kasarani Indoor Stadium.
Beira took the floor first against Bravehearts in a game that started slow, with the latter edging the opening quarter 15-13.
Ferroviario took charge of the second quarter, stepping up on the defensive end of the court and limiting the Malawians to just 11 points while scoring 23 and never looking back en route to a 78-66 win.
Joshua Thomas led the way for Beira with a game-high 22 points, Ismael Nurmamade added 13 points, and Ke Tarrious Bouchum chipped in with 10.

Meanwhile, forward Maxwell Ngonga had a 17-point and 11-rebound double-double in a losing effort. Ian Owen Limbe (13 points) also scored in double figures for Braavehearts.
In the other Group B game played, Dar City dug deep to hold off a determined Mateo Magic, 85-78.
Dar edged the opening quarter 21-20 but raised the intensity on the defensive sideof the ball to hold Matero Maagic to 13 points to open a 9-point lead atthe half.
Dar City controlled the early stages of the third quarter extending the lead to as big as 18 points before Magic fought back into the game.

Deng Angok Yak Deng led the charge for Dar City with a game-high 23 points and 12 ebounds, Nisre Zouzoua added 18 points and swipped 6 steals, Raphiael Putney had 16 points, and Solo Diabate chipped in 13 points.
Marc Seylan top scored forr the Magic with 20 points, Corry Boyd added 14 points and 11 boards while Omar Thielemans (12), ElijahMukelabai (11) and Zaid Hearst (10) also scored in double figures.
