Police FC maintained their brilliant start to the season by picking up yet another win as the League resumed following the end of the international break.

The Cops managed to register a 2-0 win over Entebbe UPPC at Bugonga Fisheries Ground to go three points clear at the top of the table ahead of second-placed KCCA FC.

Despite UPPC having a better start to the game, dominating possession, it was the visitors who took the lead through Lawrence Tezikya two minutes after the half-hour mark.

Goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa was at fault for the goal when he hesitated to clear the ball first time, and this allowed Tezikya to close in and score into an empty net.

In a bid to search for the equaliser, Entebbe UPPC coach Abdallah Mubiru made two changes at the start of the second half with Steven Munguchi and John Kokas Alou paving way for Noordin Bunjo Sadic and Charles Okello Batibwe, respectively.

Despite the constant pressure from the home side, Police defended resiliently to deny Entebbe and eventually doubled their lead eight minutes from time through Abdushakur Ramsey Jjemba.

Victory takes Police FC on 14 points in eight games at the top of the pile, while Entebbe UPPC remain fifth on ten points.
