There are plenty of lessons to take home for Ugandan Wrestler Veronica Ayo who lost her two games in Pool B at the on-going Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, 19th November 2025.
It is history in the making as Uganda debuts in the sport of Wrestling at the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) in Riyadh city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Veronica Ayo’s resilience, perseverance and spirited display inside the Boulevard SEF Arena 01B Arena definitely makes her a transformed party.
Ayo lost the opener 0-10 to Sezim Zhumanazarova (Kyrgyz) before falling Algeria’s Tekouk A.Djamila 0-4.
“The experience is amazing and facing such talented athletes leaves me with some vital lessons learnt” Ayo remarked.

Wrestling is among the 23 sports disciplines in which Uganda fielded 7 sports.
By the morning of Wednesday, 19th November 2025, Uganda had accumulated 9 medals from Swimming, Athletics and Table Tennis.
Uganda was represented in seven sports disciplines; swimming, boxing, weightlifting, swimming, Table Tennis, athletics, wrestling and para-power lifting.
