Ronald Sebuguzi will end his hunt for the fourth national rally championship title as the 2025 season comes to a close this weekend in the Kabalega rally in Hoima district.
Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa in a Ford Fiesta Proto will start the event 52.5 points ahead of second-placed Musa Sseggabwe in the table standings.
The three-time NRC champion Sebuguzi only needs eight points from Hoima to become a fourth-time champion.
“The dream of the fourth title is now so vivid. Sebuguzi has been hunting for the fourth for over seven years now. There are a lot of stories he can tell about his search for the fourth title.”
“Even this season, we thought we had missed it until the previous event in Gulu. But now the odds are on our side and we are prepared to make sure to keep within the goal of the title,” said Mugambwa, Sebuguzi’s co-driver.

Sebuguzi has, on several occasions, been so close to the fourth title only to miss out when it mattered.
In the 2018 season finale, Sebuguzi was leading the championship and lost the title in the first stage of Mbale rally. A similar scenario happened in the Masaka Rally in 2017.
This time, Sebuguzi’s only way to miss the title is for his rivals to win the event while he registers a non-finish.

His rival’s Sseggabwe and Ponsiano Lwakataka, who hold realistically slim chances, will be hoping for any misfortune to befall Sebuguzi for a chance to nip the title.
The event will run for two days, covering ten stages with a total competitive distance of 138.70 kilometres.
