The second edition of the BatBall events will start in Jinja with a T10 tournament from 27-30 November.
The tournament will feature four teams, with all the players in the tournament under the age of 22.
BatBall is a critical development partner for Cricket Uganda pathway programs and tournaments like these give much-needed playing time for young players outside of their usual school competitions like the Schools Cricket Week.
The BatBall X tournament is a pathway for players to feature in the bigger BatBall events, such as BatBall Max which will happen next month.
We’re grateful to Cricket Uganda for their continued trust and collaboration as we take the BATBALL X Jinja T10 tournament to the next level. This BATBALL X Jinja T10 Event, in collaboration with JACC, features a wider age group — extending up to U-22 — which allows university players, A-team members, and emerging cricketers to gain valuable game time and exposure.
Together with Cricket Uganda, we aim to create a stronger bridge between youth and senior cricket, ensuring the nation’s next generation of talent is ready to shine on bigger stages.
Aarkshit Mardan, CEO BatBall
The four teams to feature in the BatBall include Leopards, Bulls, Elephants and Rhinos. Each side will have 14 players, a coach and a Team Manager.
BATBALL X Jinja T10 is a vital step in our development pathway. By extending to U-22, we’re giving young players the chance to bridge school cricket and senior levels, while showcasing Uganda’s emerging talent on a bigger stage.
Davis Turinawe, Cricket Uganda Development Manager
All the games will be played at the Jinja SSS Cricket Oval.
