Overview:

Table Tennis has Jemimah Nakawala and Ssebatindira. The 3X3 Basketball team has Jovia Nyeko Anena, Brandina Kyalimpa, Marion Apio and Grace Shivan Mwesigwa. Isaiah Abner and Mary Peyton Suubi are on the swimming team while George William Ntulume is for Break Dance. Baskaline Cherotwo, Risper Chekwemboi, Keren Chelimo and Kizito Loput are on the Athletics team. The accompanying officials are Alvin Katumba (Table Tennis), Jonathan Egau (Basketball), Immaculate Chemuta (Athletics), Olivier Nalwadda (Swimming), and Frank Kimuli (Break Dance). Five Uganda teams have been officially flagged off for the 2025 African Youth Games due in Luanda city, Angola.

Athletics, Basketball (3X3), Break dance, Swimming and Table Tennis will send in the athletes for the games due 10th to 20th December 2025.

Milton Chebet, the deputy secretary at National Council of Sports (NCS) was the chief guest during the flag off ceremony held at the Copper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala on Thursday, 4th December 2025.

Chebet commended the respective sports federations that have prepared the athletes, the coaches and athletes, calling for total commitment during the games.

“I want to thank different sports federations / associations for the enormous task of preparing the teams. To the athletes, I urge you to remain determined and work for medals. Remain disciplined at all times” Chebet urged.

Chef-De-Mission Harriet Aya lauded the Government for the support as well as Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC). She promised the best showing for the teams traveling.

“The teams are ready to gallantly represent the country. I thank the Government and UOC for the support. We promise the best showing” Aya revealed.

11-year-old Table Tennis world champion Joseph Francis  Ssebatindira is among the players who is on the team.

Ssebatindira, fresh from clinching the 2025 Jinja Open has vowed for his the best performance at the continental yout games.

“I have been training well. I am prepared for the best display in Angola” Ssebatindira who was also part of the Uganda team at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) noted.

Team Uganda composition:

The team delegation will travel on Sunday,  7th December 2025 ahead of the championship tip off on 10th December 2025.
