She Cranes Credit: Africa Netball

She Cranes suffered a big 56-34 loss to South Africa in the final of the 2025 Africa Netball Cup in Malawi on Sunday.

She Cranes lost to South Africa for the second successive run after and the plan for revenge went wrong.

South Africa came out 9f the blocks early, racing to a 15-7 lead at the end of the opening period of the game.

Uganda continued to struggle with South Africa’s high intensity and coordination as they were trailing by 11 goals (27-16) at the halftime break.

Coming from the long break, She Cranes made several changes but they were not effective as South Africa pushed the lead to 43-26 at the end of the third quarter.

Despite Uganda’s attempt to bounce back, the effort hardly yielded as South Africa registered a commanding 22-goal victory.

It was a tough evening for Uganda as South Africa took charge of the game from the first minute to the last.

Uganda failed to find a rhythm. They made several turnovers, including poor footwork and loose balls.

The loss acts as a reality check to the Sha Cranes, who recently lifted the Celtic Cup in Scotland.
