SC Villa registered a slim 1-0 victory against Calvary in the Uganda Premier League encounter at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba on Wednesday.
Calvary captain Stephen Oriokot tripped Najib Yiga in the dangerous area, and the referee awarded the hosts a penalty in the fourth minute.
Aslam Ssemakula stepped up to the occasion and calmly converted from the 12-yard mark, thus placing SC Villa in the driving seat.

Frank Ssebuufu failed to make contact with Frank Mulimi’s sweet delivery from the right flank as the hosts kept piling pressure on Calvary.
SC Villa goalkeeper David Lukwago was troubled by Andrew Kiwanuka’s powerful effort but managed to punch it out in the 26th minute.
Coming into the second period, the game was greatly slowed as both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances.
Both sides made changes in the second half, introducing fresh legs in the middle park but the entrants were not so effective.
The victory takes SC Villa in the third position with 23 points in 10 games, while Calvary lie on the bottom of the log with only three points in 11 games.
