John Kokas Alou scored the lonely strike as the hosts secured maximum points on the day.
Ambrose Kigozi nearly fired the hosts ahead in the 13th minute but his effort rolled off the target.
Kokas broke the deadlock in the 34th minute getting on the end of a well-constructed team movement. The agile midfielder was set up by Isa Mubiru.
In the 83th minute, Jasper Aheebwa was tripped by Jonathan Odongo in the dangerous area.
Emmanuel Alex Wasswa stepped up to the occasion but placed the ball off target as Kitara wasted a clear chance to level matters.
The victory takes The Printers in the fifth position with 20 points in 11 games while Kitara drop to sixth place with 19 points in 10 games.
