Uganda has won yet another silver medal at the 2025 African Youth Games in Luanda, Angola.
Breakdancer George Ntulume claimed a silver medal during the inaugural breakdance competition at the games.
The 17-year-old was second in the pool following a 3-0 triumph over Senegal’s Cise, a stalemate with another Senegalese (Seny) and a bitter 2-1 defeat to Algerian, Driss.
The performance at the group stage earned him a berth in the semifinals where he edged out Tunisia’s Saji 3-0.
In the finale, Ntulume fell 2-0 to Julio from Angola to earn a silver medal.
“I will take the lessons learned and come back stronger,” he consoled himself after the loss in the final.

Meanwhile, Algeria’s Drisse claimed bronze in the championship.
This silver added to Uganda’s medal tally at the Games, where Table Tennis and Athletics also reaped varying medals.
Table Tennis players Jemimah Nakawala and Joseph Ssebatindira got individual bronze medals in the singles competition before getting silver in the team event.
Baskaline Cherotwo earned silver in the women’s 1500m event.
Keren Chelimo finished third in the women’s 3000m race to earn bronze for Uganda as well.

Uganda was also represented in swimming as well as basketball (3X3).
The team was led by Chef de Mission Harriet Aya.
