AFCON 2025 (Group C)
- Tunisia 3-1 Uganda
- Nigeria 2-1 Tanzania
Tunisia humbled Uganda Cranes 3-1 in a rain-laden Group C duel of the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
FC Copenhagen forward Mohamed Elyes Achouri struck a brace, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ellyes Joris Skhiri adding the other at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday night.
Substitute Denis Omedi of APR Football Club in Rwanda got Uganda Cranes’ consolation on the miserable night.

Skhiri put the Carthage Lions in the lead in the 10th minute after an early dominance with a header off a well-executed corner from Burnley’s dangerman Hannibal Mejbri.
Achouri tapped home from close range with five minutes to the climax of the first half to establish a 2-0 lead by the break.
Achouri completed his brace in the 64th minute following a goal melee for Tunisia’s third.
17-year-old James Bogere was introduced inside the final 20 minutes, replacing Steven Mukwala and midfielder Baba Alhassan also replaced Kenneth Ssemakula.
Alhassan was booked also a minute upon being introduced.
Omedi, who had replaced Jude Ssemugabi at the start of the second half, pulled a goal back at the death with a heavy deflection after good interplay involving Allan Okello and Toby Sibbick.

Tunisia is now top of Group C with three points and two goals’ difference. Nigeria, which earlier beat Tanzania 2-1 in Fes, is second.
