Shamirah Nabadda continues to scale the heights in her illustrious career, racking up achievement after achievement.

The latest for Nabadda comes today, after CAF confirmed she will be in charge of the Benin vs Botswana encounter slated for Saturday, 27th December 2025.

Named the best female referee of 2025 by CAF, Nabadda will take charge of the game slated to take place at the Olympic Stadium of Rabat at 3:30 p.m. EAT.

She becomes the first Ugandan centre referee to officiate at the Africa Cup of Nations since Muhammad Ssegonga at the 2010 edition in Angola.

Ssegonga took charge of the game between Mali and Algeria on 14th January 2010 at Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda, Angola.

Mark Ssonko, a former assistant referee, made the final list for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt but did not officiate any game.

In today’s game, Nabadda will work alongside Diana Chikotesha from Zambia and Carine Atezambong Fomo from Cameroon as first and second assistants, respectively.

Clement Franklin Kpan from the Ivory Coast will serve as the fourth official, and Gabon’s Pierre Ghislan Atcho will be on VAR duties.

Letticia Antonella Viana and Fatou Gaye will be assistant VAR Referee one, and Fatou Gaye will serve as the referee’s assessor.
