Tanzania hold Tunisia in the final group game of the Africa Cup of Nations encounter at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Tuesday.
Tunisia nearly took the lead in the fourth minute after Ali Abdi tried to find Yan Valery in the area but Tanzania teamed up to make a great clearance.
Ismael Gharbi was in the right place to give Tunisia the lead with a goal at his mercy but fired the ball over the bar in the 21st minute.
Tanzania were awarded a penalty after a VAR review. The incident ruled that IbrahimnHamad had made a rough takle in the area.
Gharbi presented himself for the assignment after placing the ball in the top corner thus placing Tunisia in the driving seat.
Two minutes into the second stanza, Simon Msuva was picked by Abdul Suleiman but the final effort was inches wide of the target.
A minute later, Tanzania levelled matters through Feisal Salum who won possession at the edge of the box before firing into the bottom left corner.
From that point, Tanzania went behind the ball, sucking in all the pressure that Tunisia threw at them.
Despite Tunisia’s relentless attacks, the Taifa Stars stood firm and tall, throwing everything on the line to pick a point from the tough duel.
With a point from the game, Tunisia finish second with four points while Tanzania finishes third on two points with a chance to advance.
