Tanzania football national team head coach Angel Miguel Gamondi expressed satisfaction despite the end of their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Tanzania lost 0-1 to hosts Morocco after a 68th minute goal from Real Madrid star Brahim Abdelkader Diaz at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat city.

The Taifa Stars gave a good account of themselves, creating two clear cut goal scoring opportunities not buried off by Saimon Msuva and Feisal Abdallah in each half.
Addressing the media after the game in the official press conference, the 59-year-old Argentine manager revealed delight about the quality exhibited.
“I am feeling satisfied. I am very happy” Gamondi opened up.

“We did very well throughout the game. We created two clear chances. I am proud of the tactics, commitment and character from the players. Honestly, I told the players to put away the chances created.” he added.
Castigates referee:

The Tanzanian head coach criticized most decisions of the center referee Boubou Traore from Mali, including turning down a would-be penalty call when Iddi Selemani Nado was pushed down inside the goal area by Adam Masina.
“I am not happy with some decisions of the referee but it is part of the game.” He told the reporters.

Great experience attained:
Gamondi hints to the key learning points from the championship where they managed two draws and two losses in the four games played.
“It was a great experience to learn. To play against Tunisia, Nigeria, Uganda and Morocco was good experience. There was a lot of commitment from the players. We want to change the face for Tanzanian football” he highlighted about the key take homes.

“We have learnt how to compete at this level. Tanzania must be very well prepared in organization; technical and tactical aspects of the game” the vastly experienced coach added.
