Brahim Abdelkader Diaz has been described as an ambidextrous and technically gifted attacking midfielder with exceptional dribbling ability, agility and playmaking antics; often deployed as a number ten or winger on either flanks.
Morocco and Real Madrid forward Brahim Abdelkader Diaz scored his fourth goal at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) during their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tanzania at the round of 16 stage.
The goal, a venomous shot off the weaker right foot on the near post of goalkeeper Hussein Masalanga gave the host country a berth to the quarter finals where they will face West Africans Cameroon on 9th January 2026.
The 26-year-old left footed playmaker applauded the teammates and the fans for the push, dedicating the special goal to the mother who was celebrating her birthday.
“This is my first AFCON tournament and I am happy to be part” Diaz told reporters in the official post match press conference addressed in English.



“It was a tough game. Tanzania gave us a difficult game. The most important thing was to win the quarter final. I am so happy that we won. All my teammates worked hard and we are one solid family. The fans were crazy. The goal is a gift to my mother since it was her birthday” he added.


Diaz was born in Malaga to a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father before he settled in Manchester city, England.
He scored against Comoros, Mali, Zambia and Tanzania becoming the first Morocco player to score in every group stage match since Ahmed Faras in 1976.

Diaz also earned man of the match accolades in the Comoros and Tanzania clashes.

With now 19 international caps for Morocco, Diaz has scored a dozen goals.
Morocco takes on Cameroon during an explosive quarter final duel on 9th January 2026 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat city.
