Rashid Mukungu smiles on duty during his times in Abu Dhabi at P.E Sports Club

Overview:

Rashid Mukungu commenced his elementary journey at Villa Young (Jogoo), Kampala Junior Team (KJT) before shifting base to Friends of Football Academy (FOF). Mukungu played for several football giant schools in Uganda as Dynamic SS, Kibuli SS, Buddo SS, St Julian and St Mary's Kitende. His professional journey started at Tooro United Football Club in the Uganda Premier League. He later played for MYDA and Gaddaffi before he ventured in the murky waters of the Mid-East.

Contemporary football demands and calls for keen attention to details.

From close ball control, jealous ball shielding (protection), affluent passing, awesome positional sense, exceptional on and off the ball movements, timely tackles, industriousness, raw energy, heading the ball, eagles’ vision, discipline, accurate shooting to overall command (on the field of play and most times, off), it calls a lot to meet the expectations of a complete professional footballer.

These are key attributes that make complete players that any coach in whichever continent will yearn for.

Ugandan versatile midfielder Rashid Mukungu, 26, is blessed to encompass at least three thirds of these special skills that are rarely embedded in one specimen.

He has the ability to control the ball, pass via all distances, protect the ball, position self, tackle well, shoot, head and a typical leader.

Following a successful spell in Abu Dhabi at P.E Sports Club, Mukungu is now back in Africa.

If all goes according to book, Mukungu will ink a professional contract with Ethiopia Premier League entity Ethiopian Coffee Football Club, in a country where romancing with the ball is a norm and a custom.

Mukungu has been training with Ethiopian Coffee for the past fortnight and has largely impressed.

In case the deal at Ethiopian Coffee comes to fruition, Mukungu will join another Ugandan, Muhammed “Jaggarson” Shaban at the same family.
