The round of 16 at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations is now complete and focus will shift to the quarter finals.
Champions Ivory Coast became the latest team to join the eight with a deserved win over Burkina Faso in Marrakesh and that gives them opportunity to stay in contention for title defence.
They become the first defending champions since 2010 to reach the stage and will now seven-time winners Egypt for a place in the semi-final.
The enticing fixture will happen in Agadir on Saturday January 10.
On the same day, Algeria who needed an extra time winner over DR Congo will face red hot Nigeria Super Eagles who dispatched Mozambique 4-0 in the round of 16.
The first quarter final matches will happen on Friday January 9 with hosts Morocco who edged Tanzania’s Taifa Stars 1-0 taking on five-time champions Cameroon.
The Indomitable Lions beat South Africa 2-1 at the round of 16 in what was an even contest till the final whistle.
The match will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium, Rabat.
The other match on Friday will feature West Africans Senegal against Mali tussle it out in Tangier.
The Lions of Teranga beat Sudan 3-1 to get to the stage while Mali needed a penalty shootout win to eliminate Tunisia 3-2 after drawing 1-1 in extra time.
