Seasoned lady golfer Martha Babirye leads after the first round of the 2026 Kabalaza Golf Open at Entebbe Club.
Babirye scored 7-over-78 over the first 18 holes played on Thursday, 5th February 2026, three strokes ahead of the second-placed duo of Lillian Koowe and Joyce Kisembo.
Babirye recorded a single birdie on par-5 hole 15 with par scores on 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 17 and 18. She had 6 bogies on holes 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 and 16. Par 4 hole 4 produced a double bogey.
Judith Komugisha closely follows with 82, as Janet Kabayonga completes the top five with 12-over-83.
Others are Harsshitha Loganathan (84), Grace Newumbe (85), Frista Birabwa (86), Resty Nalutaaya (87), as the duo of left-handed Gloria Mbaguta and Winnie Musuya are level on 89.
Meanwhile, Godfrey Kambale leads the men’s standings with 2-under-69. He is a stroke better than the second-placed duo of Michael Tumusiime and Joel Okoth.
In the professionals’ cluster, Silver Opio recorded 3-under-68 to lead the leaderboard after round one.
Phillip Kasozi (69), Rodell Tadeo Gaita (70), Herman Deco Mutebi (71) and Abbey Bagalana (71) closely follow.
