St. Noa salvaged a late point against FUFA Women Super League table leaders Kawempe Muslim as the second round of the 2025/26 season got underway on Saturday.

Kawempe led through Latifah Nakasi’s first half strike but a stoppage-time equalizer from St. Noa’s skipper Barbra Anomo saw the game end in a one-all stalemate.

St. Noa will have goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya to thank for her wonderful performance that eventually saw her named player of the match.

The Uganda U20 Women’s National team goalie made game-defining saves to deny Agnes Nabukenya twice and Jovia Nakagolo at different intervals.

Kawempe had midfielder Krusum Namutebi rushed to hospital after a head-collusion with Imelda Kesimire. Coach Ayub Khalifa confirmed after the game that the player had since stabilized.

The visitors broke the deadlock, three minutes before the break with crafty forward Dorcus Kisakye threading a deft pass to Nakasi who slotted the ball beyond onrushing Nakirya.

In the second half, St. Noa made changes, bringing on Martha Babirye, Dorcus Lwalisa and Esther Babirye to replace Imelda Kesimire, Faridah Namirimu and Patricia Nayiga.

The substitutions brought change with the hosts looking an improved side from the first half display. The second half commenced with a disruption of the mid-morning rains around Kampala.

With two minutes added on, St. Noa found the equalizer in the first minute. Skipper Anomo capitalized on poor handling by goalkeeper Josephine Namwanje to fire home.

The result means Kawempe stay top of the pile ob 29 points while St. Noa remain seventh on 14 points.
