Vipers SC thump Pajule Lions to secure a ticket to the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2026 Uganda Cup.

Vipers secured a well-deserved 6-0 victory against Pajule Lions in the Uganda Cup encounter at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday evening.

The regional side faced a tough challenge from the Uganda Cup defending champions under the lights in unfamiliar territory.

Karim Watambala broke the deadlock in the sixth minute with a powerful effort from close range thanks to Rogers Torach’s great long pass.

Usama Arafat doubled Vipers’ lead in the 20th minute with a snapshot that was too much for the goalkeeper to deal with after the backline sleeping on the job.

Milton Karisa nearly made it three in the 25th minute after rounding of the goalkeeper but the Pajule Lions’ defender cleared the effort off the line.

Watambala completed a bracein the 33rd minute with a brilliant half volley from close range. The midfielder was in the right spot to reach to Nicholas Wadada’s effort that bounced off the woodwork.

At the stroke of the first half, Karisa curled home an easy freekick beating the Pajule Lions custodian who placed his wall wrongly.

Seven minutes into the second stanza, Karisa extended the hosts’ lead to five with a powerful effort after beating his marker to a delightful first touch.

With three minutes left on the clock, Gusto Mulongo put the icing on the cake after pouncing on Wadada’s sweet delivery.

After registering back-to-back draws in the Uganda Premier League, the Kitende-based side secured a morale-boosting victory.
