Manji, Tsevi, Yuvraj and Gicheru are all junior players, selected through the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) Order of Merit.

Junaid Manji claimed victory at the Sigona Bowl, while Kevin Anyien won the Great Rift Valley Championship.

These are all members of the High Performance Program – an initiative supported by The R&A, designed to identify, nurture and prepare Kenya’s most promising golfers for elite regional and international competition.

The head coach is Ali Khimji, Brian Akun (team manager) and the head of delegation as Chris Kinuthia.

Selection Criteria:

The team was selected in accordance with the Union’s approved selection framework, taking into account performance in the 2025 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) standings and the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) Order of Merit.

In finalizing the team, the Selection Committee considered each player’s current performance level, competitive record, and stage of development within the national performance pathway.

The objective is to ensure appropriate exposure to competition that supports both immediate team objectives and long-term player progression.

The composition of this year’s team reflects the Union’s structured development pathway, integrating established amateurs alongside emerging junior players.

Participation in events such as the Victoria Cup forms part of the national performance program, providing competitive opportunities that contribute to experience, depth, and continuity within the national squad structure.
