Ivan Ahimbisibwe continued with his brilliant form, bagging a brace on Monday as KCCA overcame Buhimba Saints at the Royals Park, Butema.

The lethal forward scored in either half to guide the Citizens to a 2-0 win to extend her goal tally to nine and he is now a joint-top scorer alongside Entebbe’s Ambrose Kigozi.

Coach Brian Ssenyondo made one change from the team that played Mbarara City in the Uganda Cup with Herbert Achayi returning from injury and starting ahead of Umar Lutalo.

The visitors took the lead three minutes from the break with Ahimbisibwe firing home from close range when Saidi Mayanja teed him up.

A long ball from Joel Sserunjogi met Mayanja who set up Ahimbisibwe to slot into the back of the net.

At the start of the second half, KCCA made changes introducing new signing Kennedy Muselero for his debut, replacing Shafik Kwikiriza. He came on alongside Rogers Mugisha who replaced Mayanja.

There were further changes with Lazaro Muhindo and Ashraf Mugume paving way for Bright Anukani and Alex Yiga respectively.

In the 87th minute, Ahimbisibwe sealed the victory for KCCA getting his second on the day to secure all three points for the visitors.

The win takes KCCA to third place on 36 points, two behind leaders Vipers. The Citizens will return to action on Friday at home to Police.
