Overview:
Entebbe Airforce SS, Boston High School Mpala and Lake View SS Kitinda will represent Entebbe zone at this year’s Wakiso regional championships in Kawanda where they will be joined by schools from Kitende, Aggrey, Nsangi, Nansana, Bweyogerere and Naddangira zones.
2026 USSSA Entebbe Zone Football Championship (Boys):
- Finals: Entebbe Airforce SS 0 (6) – 0 (5) Boston High School Mpala
- Third-place: Entebbe Parents SS 2-0 Lake View Kitinda SS
Entebbe Airforce Secondary School once again lifted the boys’ football trophy during the 2026 USSSA Entebbe Zone championship at St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) playground on Friday, 27th March.
In a repeat of last year’s finale, Entebbe Airforce S.S defeated Boston High School Mpala 6-5 during post match penalties after normal time had ended goal-less.
During the tense shoot-outs; Duncan Mabikke, Gordon Mugagga, Malcom Muyodi, Hassan Ssekagiri, Swaibu Kirumira and Harbert Munguleni all scored for Entebbe Airforce SS.
Only Ivan Sserunyonyi missed from 12 yards for Entebbe Airforce S.S.
Isma Ssekitto, Asuman Byansi, Ibrahim Fahad, Rayan Kawalya and Isaac Kayemba scored for Boston High School Mpala.
Captain Kevin Canyuthoyo and Arnold Mugema missed their respective kicks.
“I am very excited that we have managed to successfully defend this trophy. It has taken hardwork and commitment from the players. I thank the school management for the job well done to support the team” Richard “Mande” Kakembo, head coach of Entebbe Airforce SS remarked.
His counterpart at Boston High School Mpala Hussein Mulawa cast the blame game to hard-luck.
“I congratulate the winners. We fell short because I believe we were not lucky on the day. We hit the post in normal time and also played for limited time” Mulawa, a former goalkeeper commiserated.
During the third place play-off, Entebbe Parents Secondary School beat Lake View SS Kitinda 2-0 to take bronze.
The top three schools; Entebbe Airforce SS, Boston High School Mpala and Lake View SS Kitinda will represent Entebbe zone at this year’s Wakiso regional championships in Kawanda where they will be joined by schools from Kitende, Aggrey, Nsangi, Nansana, Bweyogerere and Naddangira zones.
The best five schools will represent Wakiso region to the nationals in Lira due in May 2026.
