JT Lady Jaguars end UCU Lady Jaguars perfect run at nine games in the 2026 National Basketball League.

JT Lady Jaguars secured a hard-fought 55-51 victory against UCU Lady Canons in the NBL encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday evening.

The JT Lady Jaguars missed two important players, as Rhoda Nagitta (who lost her dad) and Bridget Aber (with an injured foot) were unable to make it to the squad.

Both sides delayed to get out of their blocks as the first baskets dropped after three minutes of action.

Maimuna Nabbosa got the game underway with a driving layup before Matrina Anyango responded in equal measure.

With five seconds on the clock, Shakirah Nanvubya found one from downtown to give the Lady Jaguars a two-point lead (16-14) at the end of the opening period.

JT Lady Jaguars stepped up defensively, limiting the Lady Canons from finding easy baskets in the area.

Mariam Namukwaya concluded the second period as the Lady Canons trailed by six points (32-26) going into the long break.

Coming from the locker rooms, the two sides greatly improved defensively but were not lethal enough to burry the chances.

Annet Among made two big blocks limiting Anyango’s offensive prowess before she was called to the bench after her second foul.

The game witnessed a nail-biting finish after the Lady Canons took a one-point lead (50-49) thanks to Sylivia Nantongo’s effort from downtown.

The Lady Jaguars held on to take home a four-point victory on the day.

Mariam Namukwaya (17 points), Sylvia Nantongo (13 points) and Matrina Anyango (11 points) led the Canons in double digits.
