Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) are the champions of the Jinja District school games.
JIPRA secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Jinja Progressive in the USSSA Games Jinja District Finals encounter on Wednesday.
Lyton Nandejje was the hero of the day as JIPRA secured a hard-fought victory infront of the big crowd.
It was a closely contested game from the opening minute as both sides kept their backlines glued, parked and limited for no errors.
But in the 10th minute, the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe erupted in roar after JIPRA were awarded a penalty.
Nandejje stepped up and converted from the spot to place JIPRA in the driving seat of the game.
From that point, Jinja Comprehensive stepped up its search for an equaliser thus pushing JIPRA on the back foot.
However, JIPRA’s backline stood firm and tall to ensure that they fight and throw everything on the line to keep the slim lead intact.
