BUL Football Club head coach Peter Onen has admitted his charges were mentally and physically focused in the 2-1 away win against Prisons’ run side Maroons in Luzira, Kampala on Tuesday.
Onen, also the head coach for the Uganda national U-17 team which qualified for AFCON U-17 finals has since described the match like a cup final situation.
“We approached the game with a cautious mind. All the players and technical staff members treated this match like a typical cup final which is always a matter of life or death,” Onen noted.
Herman Nteza Wasswa cancelled out Deogracious Ojok’s first half opener as the two sides remained level towards the closing stages of the match.
However, Uganda U-20 star player Hamis Tibita had other ideas altogether with the winning goal, virtually on the stroke of full time.

Onen has always hinted of the sublime preparations prior this game;
We trained and prepared well. It is by no surprise that we got the full maximum points away from home.
Next task ahead
Onen has called on his gallant troops to remain focused and determined ahead of the rest of the season, especially in the immediate next match, against Ndejje University at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
I know most of the Ndejje University players especially Francis Onekalit and Dickens Kilama whom I handled as students at Layibi College. We shall plan afresh of a new strategy before taking them on. I trust the technical team and the players.

After five matches, BUL find themselves in an unfamiliar third place with 10 points, behind leaders Vipers and KCCA.
George Nsimbe’s Maroons have not won any game in five outings, just like SC Villa.
BUL hosts Ndejje University this Saturday at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
