Fresh from winning the recent rally in Mbale, the rally crew of
Susan Muwonge and Edmond Kyeyune were rewarded by the Uganda Sports Association (USPA) with the November 2018 monthly accolade.
The crew now the 2018 national rally champions scooped the accolade during the journalists’ monthly convention held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
They tallied 455 votes ahead of Uganda Cranes (430 votes), swimmer Kirabo Mirembe (420) and lady golfer Eva Magala (335 votes).
The rally crew won the Mbale event ahead of Hassan Alwi with 32 second advantage.
Uganda Cranes beat Cape Verde to qualify for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Magala won the 2018 Nigeria ladies open while Mirembe scooped nine gold medals at the CANA 3 Zonal Championship in Sudan.
Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC forward Patrick Kaddu, Nkumba Ladies Volleyball team, Nemostars and golfer Irene Kalembe despite not making the nomination list were commended for their performance in the same month.
This was the first monthly meeting under the leadership of new USPA President Patrick Kanyomozi.
Kanyomozi was also sworn in on the same day.
