Uganda Cubs coach Fabin Kwasi has promised a similar performance when his side takes on Nigeria in the ongoing 2019 U-17Africa Cup of Nations in Dar es Salaam.

The Ugandan Junior side was supreme as they whitewashed hosts Tanzania 3-0 to rekindle chances of an appearance at the World Cup due in Brazil later this year.

Andrew Kawooya, Ivan Asaba and Najib Yiga scored the goals for the Cubs that imply a win against Nigeria could see the Cubs reach the semis

“If we play like this, we are going to win that game and get the ticket to Brazil,” said Kwasi in the post-match press conference.

We are happy to bounce back like that, we hope that we carry that performance into our next game so that we get the ticket that takes us to Brazil.

With all teams still with a chance to reach Brazil, Uganda must beat much fancied Nigeria who lead the group with six points and hope results in the game between Angola and Tanzania go their way.
