Indian steeplechaser Avinash Sable’s training camp to train in Uganda ahead of the Tokyo Olympics has been confirmed.
The 26-year-old will camp in Teryet, Kapchorwa for 100 days training with coach Addy Ruiter, who guides Joshua Cheptegei.
According to a statement released by his country’s Ministry, the money sanctioned his training is about 140M Ugx.
“Sports Ministry approves proposal for a high altitude training camp of 100 Days in Kapchorwa/Teryet, Uganda from 10th April 21 to 20th July 21.
“Amount sanctioned for training Rs. 28,95,150.”
Sable qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the 3000m steeplechase event with a time of 8:21:31 at the 2019 World Championships in Doha.
