Sports enthusiast-cum-businessman Sulaiman Kiwanuka has extended his philanthropic hands and heart towards football development in Nakifuma sub-county, Mukono district.

This time round, Kiwanuka has had a soft spot for women football.

The free spending sportsman and politician donated football jerseys to six women football clubs taking part in the Mukono District women football league.

The beneficiaries are Pearl Ladies, Bukerere women football club, Golden Impact, Malanga Elite, Shavie Ladies and Kasawo Talents Ladies.

Boosting football development within Nakifuma, Mukono and Uganda as a whole is my dream. I extend help towards women football clubs just like I have done for the men and juniors. My dream is turn Nakifuma into the “Brazil of Uganda”.

Sulaiman Kiwanuka through the Sulaiman Kiwanuka Foundation has done quite a number of recognizable projects for the people of Nakifuma both in the social lives and sporting spheres.

Sports-wise, Kiwanuka has educated coaches, sponsored various tournaments and events in football, netball, cycling, boxing and wrestling.

He has also procured sports gear in form of jerseys, boots, balls, stockings, shin guards as well as financial support to youth, women and sports groups and the team of Kyaggwe Ssaza (that participates in the Buganda Masaza Cup).

Meanwhile, the Mukono District women football league continued on 2nd February 2022 with three matches at various venues.

Pearl Ladies humbled Bukerere women 3-0 at the Namawojjolo grounds, Golden Impact lost 2-1 to Malanga Elite at Katikolo grounds and Shavie ladies were 3-1 winners over Kasawo Sports Academy at Greenville grounds.

Kiwanuka also has plans to construct an utra modern stadium within Nakifuma sub-county.

A public secret underlies Kiwanuka’s bold and heart-felt actions – to represent the people’s views of Nakifuma in the national parliament come 2026.
