2022 Entebbe Ladies Golf Open:

The 12th edition of the Entebbe Ladies Golf open was officially launched at Entebbe Club on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

There was good news to deliver home as key sponsors and partners were revealed.

Air Uganda, KCB Bank and Britam Insurance were officially disclosed as the tournament sponsors.

The bank offered Shs 10,000,000 to the organizing team and Air Uganda will fly two top performers to a destination of their choice on top of Shs. 5,000,000 package.

A new champion will be crowned on Saturday, 5th March 2022.

This after the defending champion and record winner Irene Nakalembe turned professional in February 2022.

At least 200 golfers, including lady golfers from Kenya and Tanzania are expected to grace the two day’s championship whose mode of play is medal

CharityTushabomwe, the lady captain at Entebbe Club anticipates a great championship that will be equally competitive.

Tushabomwe, who was flanked by the representatives of the sponsors and former lady captain Jovia Tugume also lauded the contribution of the partners on board.

We expect a strong competitive field of golfers from the country and outside in Kenya and Tanzania as well as the subsidiaries. We thank the sponsors; Uganda Airlines, KCB Bank, Britam and the others who have put hands together to see that we have a successful event.

Uganda Airlines has offered two passenger return air tickets the exceling golfers with a top up of Shs. 5,000,000 to the organizing committee.

Rahim Shakilah Lamar, the manager public relations and corporate affairs elucidated their close association with golf sport and particularly female golf.

“Uganda Airlines is humbled to be part of the Entebbe Ladies Golf Open. We are celebrating women in sport and golf among the ladies. We shall continue to be associated with the growth of golf among the ladies” Shakilah noted.

The championship will also have the subsidiary category that includes the men and higher handicap female golfers.

Some of the lady golfers eyeing this championship include two time Uganda Ladies Golf Open winner Martha Babirye, Peace Kabasweka, Gloria Mbaguta, Eva Magala, Melon Kyomugisha, artesian Resty Nalutaaya, Jovia Tugume and others.

The 13th Entebbe Ladies Golf Open will tee off on Friday and climax on the subsequent day with the official prize giving ceremony.

The top performers will take home glittering trophies as well as two return passenger air tickets.
