William Kanyesigye, a 23-year old bar attendant from Ntinda’s Capital Nite bar beat 31 other competitors to earn a slot at the Nile Special National Pool Open finals due August 24 at the MTN Lugogo Arena.
He defeated eventual runner-up Allan Nsubuga, beating him 4-0 in the best of final at Big Zone Bar in Nansana on Friday night.
“I was always thinking of one thing, sinking the black” Kanyesigye, who travelled from Bukoto, said. He walked away with the Shs100,000 plaque.
For Nsubuga who also made it to the finals attributes his failure to the unfavourable crowd.
“I play from here (Big Zone) but the crowd made me lose my nerve and concentration”
Nsubuga, a 19-year old senior six student told Kawowo Sports on the evening.
The qualifier games head to Game City in Kalerwe this evening
