The first major local chess tournament on the 2012 Uganda Chess Federation calendar is the Mulago Open Chess Championship set for Friday 17th to Sunday 19th February 2012 at Pope Paul VI Memorial Hotel in Rubaga.The event is sponsored by mulago Chess Club led by George Zirembuzi.
There will be cash prizes at stake for the winners in the mens and ladies categories.
Meanwhile the UCF Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set for Saturday 4th February 2012 at National Council of Sports(Cricket Balcony) in Lugogo.
