Uganda’s hopes of having a sprinter at this year’s London Olympics solely lie Ali Ngaimoko.

And his chance to make it to the quadrennial games is at the 18th Africa Senior Championships going on in Benin.

Ngaimoko clocked 46.43 finishing third in heat eight of the first round of the 400m.

The Police constable is still short of the Olympic standard B mark

which stands at 45.90.

He heads into the semifinal heat slated for Friday.

And it could be the pivitoal race that determines his fate for the XXX Olympiad games.

But his confidence is what should help him finish the task in coastal city of Porto Novo.

In the men’s 100m, there were numerous fasle starts and many athletes were disqualified.

Botswana sprinter Amantle Montsho won her 400m heat in less than 51 seconds.
