ngaimoko

All hopes were shattered when top male sprinter Ali Ngaimoko finished seventh in 400m finals at the Africa Senior Championships in Benin. When his spikes fell off on the Charles de Gaulle stadium tartan just like the unstoppable timer, it only appeared as a wasted last chance. Due to the influence of Andrew Owusu, Sarah Nambawa’s coach, Ngaimoko has got a chance to make it to London.

Owusu who hails from Ghana had a huge influence on having Ngaimoko in Kumasi for the RLG Grand Prix. The opprtunity will be the most important for the Police constable to join team Uganda in London for the summer games. Davis Kamoga, a bronze medallist in the 400m in Atlanta 1996 was the last sprinter to travel on Uganda’s Olympic team. In Sydney 2000, Kamoga clocked 51.10m and failed to advance to the finals. Ngaimoko needs just 45.90 to make it London tomorrow.
