London Olympics bound athlete Moses Ndiema Kipsiro will need to do his homework well in time if he is to finish in the medal bracket.
Kipsiro, the Maputo All Africa gold medalist will have lots to ponder after he was stunned by Great Britain’s Mo Farah in the 5000m at the London Samsung Diamond League Meet on Friday night. The Uganda took the lead at 4000m mark but was third to cross the finish line in a time of 13:09.98.
Farah won the 12 and a half lap race in 13:06.04. Australia’s Collis Birmingham came second after setting a new personal best of 13:09.56.
Kipsiro will face a tough test at the Stratford Olympic Park from a pile of athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia and the horn of Africa. Not forgeting Farah who will be running in front of his home crowd.
Kipsiro came fourth, missing bronze at the last edition of the Olympics held at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing four years ago.
He will be the biggest prospect among the 16 athletes who head to London for the world’s biggest games due July 27-August 12.
