Paskwar Owor

Ugandan Paskwar Owor will be the main attraction as he competes to retain his title at the 52nd edition of the Perserverance Geoff Moulden 10km road race that gets underway on Sunday morning at the Wimbledon Park.

Having represented Uganda at the Olympic Games in Athens and Sydney eight and ten ago respectively, Owor of the Belgrave Harriers team is expected to use his experience and defend the crown he won last year

after beating other runners to the tape in 32 minutes and 42 seconds under the senior men’s class.

The event starts and finishes on the athletics track at Wimbledon Park. Runners follow a course along Wimbledon Park Road and Church Road, past the world famous London Olympic tennis venue, the All England Club, along St. Mary’s Road, Arthur Road and Home Park Road, before re-entering Wimbledon Park.

The prizes will be shared between the top three men and women and the top men veterans over-40, over-50 and over-60 and women veterans over-35, over-45 and over-55 category winners.

The race, which is open to runners of abilities, is not only the longest running road race in Wimbledon but also one of the oldest races of its kind in England.
