
Africa’s number one badminton player Edwin Ekiring is scheduled to play in seven major tournaments to remain top in the continent.
“I will be playing in seven major tournaments as I seek to maintain my top status in Africa and in the world,” Ekiring said in a press statement to Kawowo sports. “I am looking forward to not only play in the tournaments, but win them and also get ranking points.”
The All Africa games silver medalist starts his quest for more glory this Monday when he takes part in the Bitburger Open in Saarbrucken, Germany that concludes on November 6. Other tournaments he will be participating include the Norway Open from November 17-20, Botswana International from November 25-27, South Africa International from December 1-4, Ireland International from Dec 8-11, Italy International from December 13-16 and Turkey International from December 19-22.
The Holland based player recently claimed the top position in the Africa badminton rankings.
