The 2011 basketball achievers will be awarded tonight at the MTN-FUBA National League Awards gala at the Imperial Royal Hotel.
USPA basketball player of the year, Isaac Afidra and teammate Ben Komakech are up against each other for the most prestigious award in the game. Having helped Power to their back-to-back, the
duo were nominated for the Playoffs MVP. UCU’s Purity Adhiambo and Maureen Amoding were nominated for a similar award in the women division having led the Lady Canons’ sweep of Leopards.
Following his terrific season with Warriors, Eric Malinga earned himself a Regular Season MVP nomination along with veteran, Stephen Omony who led Miracle Eagles to their first playoff appearance. KCC’s Martha Soigi is up against UCU’s Moureen Amoding for the regular season award in the women division. The two were also nominated together for Top Scorer.
