The nine wicket win over Charity who had eliminated defending champions, Patidar Samaj CC ensured that Tornado collected their first trophy in a space of three years.
Charity won the toss, opted to bat and set 34 runs, all out with none of their batsmen exceeding 10 runs in 12.5 overs.
This was accounted for by Tornado’s stringent bowling and fielding that forced Charity’s men at the crises commit mistakes. Close to five wickets were catches which only sunk Charity in the dull first innings.
Abubaker Seguya and Dharval Patel managed to collect 24/9(not out) and (11/10)out at 3.1 overs respectively in the second innings to dump Charity out of the race.
Their less laborious efforts could made the game vie for being the shortest final in the history of Ugandan cricket.
Grace Mutyagaba’s well controlled fielding as a wicket keeper for Tornado made the side feel comfortable even though they missed their starmen, Frank Nsubuga and Benjamin Musoke, all in Dubai with the national team.
