The Multiple Industries national cricket league kicked bowled last Sunday as newly promoted division 1 sides, SKLPS and Challengers clashed at Lugogo. Although both sides felt their first touch of top flight cricket, the latter lost to the former by 28 runs. Challengers after winning the toss opted to bowl and in the process, SKLPS set 145 all out spectacular innings.
Challengers’ Daniel Ruyange who was snubbed on the recent UAE ICC T20 qualifiers poised 3/39. Mohammed Shafeek, Ruyange’s colleague had bowling spotted 4/16 before picking the bat to notch 30 runs in the second innings.
In the other games, all of division 2, the Jinja derby between Jinja Indians (JICC) and Jinja Association [JACC] shared the spoils as each won a game a piece on the evening.
