Rosenborg 2-2 Ordabasy, AIK 1-1 FH Harfanadour
Kazakhastan side FC Ordabasy came from two goals down to hold Norwegian giants Rosenborg to a 2-2 draw in the Europa second qualifying round game played in Lerkendal Stadium, Trondhiem last night. Andy Mwesigwa’s side’s defence was breached for the first time in this year’s competition thanks to B. Dockal’s first half brace. The forward put the hosts ahead in the 33rd minute and latter doubled the lead in the last minute of the first half additional time with a penalty after Arour Nye had fouled in the forbidden area.
After recess, Mwesigwa and his side came out with other ideas and got a goal through R. Pakholyub with 15 minutes left on the clock. Then came the goal that drew the game in the 93rd minute of the tie courtesy of M. Gueye. The final whistle meant the two sides shared the spoils with Andy Mwesigwa’s side just in a need of a win or at worst a goal less or a 1-1 draw to advance to the third qualifying round. The Cranes skipper played for the entire 90 minutes.
In other games, Martin Mutumba Kayongo came on in the 72nd minute but couldn’t secure a win for his AIK Stockholm after being held by FH Harfanadour to 1-1 draw. The visitors netted first through A. Gudnason after 40 minutes but V. Lundberg equaliser in the 56th minute. The return legs of both games are set for Thursday 26th/07 next week.
