Utoda FC 1-2 Simba FC
Fred Kajoba’s army side Simba became only the second team in the league to bag five wins on the trot after coming from behind to beat winless Utoda FC 2-1 at Wankulukuku stadium in a televised bell super league tie played yesterday afternoon. Ausi Kaya and Ssentongo Geofrey second half goals cancelled out Nicholas Kimera’s first half strike that had given Kintu Ismail’s a first half lead.
The already relegated Utoda FC side dominated possession like they have always done in their previous games but unfortunately end up on the losing side. Kimera Nicholas scored on the 45 minute mark off a Pius Ngabo free kick when the visitors failed to clear. The army side came out of recess with different ideas and got the equaliser when Ausi Kaya put the ball into the back of the net.
As the game seemed headed for a draw, a mistake by Utoda FC custodian Ssekatawa gifted Simba FC a winner through Ssentongo Geofrey with four minutes remaining on the clock. The win lifts the Bombo based side to sixth on the table on 42 points while already relegated Utoda FC remain rooted on the base of the 16 team log.
WHAT THEY SAID:
Utoda FC Coach Ismail Kintu: “It’s dissapointing because we deserved a point from the game. We played well but unfortunately, our goal keeper made an error that gifted them the winner”.
Simba SC Coach Fred Kajoba: “We were lucky to leave the pitch with maximum points. We didn’t play to our best but am happy with the victory”.
