Overview:
Ali Abdi Mohamed (president elect) will serve with Ahmed Farah Takal as the first vice president. The second vice president is Abdirashid Abdulle Mohamed whilst Yusuf Hussein Mumin is the third vice president. The committee members are; Yaxye Mohamed Abukar, Omar Mohamud Nor, Abukar Islow Hassan, Mohamed Ali Isse, Bashir Salad Bare and Abdikani Abdullahi Abow and the women representative, Ali Kulle Fahmo.
Sanity is steadily returning to the Somali Football fraternity with the latest positive development in the administration docket.
The election of Ali Abdi Mohamed as president for the horn of Africa nation for the next four years (2023 – 2027).
This followed a tranquil General Assembly for the Somali Football Federation (SFF) on February 22nd, 2023 at the Elite Hotel in Mogadishu.
Ali Abdi Mohamed was elected unopposed by the 34 delegates who attended the General Assembly.
This followed unprecedented incidents after the elections were stopped twice in November 2022 and February 2023 by the Government.
The greenlight was eventually given for delegates to make their decision during the elective General Assembly overseen by the Electoral Committee headed by Hassan Isak Abdullahi.
Thirty-four (34) delegates out of the total number of forty six (46) raised up their hands for a yes (in favour of Ali Abdi Mohamed).
“I declare Ali Abdi Mohamed the new President of the Somali Football Federation,” Abdullahi, the chairperson of the Electoral Committee remarked.

Ali Abdi Mohamed will serve with a team of tried and trusted administrators.

We need to work together to change the face of football in Somalia. I thank the football Congress who have chosen us to lead the Football Federation for the next four years. The football community always needs to be together if we are to take football to a better level in Somalia.

Somalia will play in the AFCON U-17 tournament set for April 2023 in the North African country of Algeria.
This followed the success at the 2022 CECAFA U-17 tournament.
