Overview:
This season, a total of 85 companies are expected to take part in the 2023 Corporate League that is embedded along the theme “Bringing Communities together through sports”.
The first outing of the 2023 Corporate League will happen this Sunday, 26th February at Kyadondo Rugby grounds in Kampala.
The development was confirmed at the grand launch held on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023 at Hotel Africana (Ssezibwa hall) in Kampala city.
This season, a total of 85 companies are expected to take part in this competition that is embedded along the theme “Bringing Communities together through sports”.
Football, Tug-of-war, Basketball, Netball, Pool, Swimming and the Marathon are the confirmed games that the corporates will be engaged in.


Diana Muttu Akello, the chairperson of the Corporate League noted the platform is to help market and promote the different brands.
“The Corporate League is back with vigor and excitement. This is a platform to market and promote the different brands for the companies taking part” Muttu revealed.
This season, the Corporate League is marking 21 solid years, a feat that the Board chairperson Denis Mbidde Ssebugwawo is proud of.

Mbidde told the media that this season, the Corporate League will embrace the marathon at the source of the Nile with proceeds intended to improve health centers within Jinja city.
“We are proud that the annual Corporate League is back. The first outing is this Sunday, 26th February 2023 at Kyadondo Rugby grounds in Kampala. More companies have come on board. We shall have the Corporate League marathon in Jinja (April) with proceeds being channeled to improving health centers there” Mbidde stated.
Mbidde also notified that the Corporate League Television (CLTV) has been invented, meant to give the companies more visibility.


Like last year, Nile Breweries Limited will sponsor the special VVIP Hospitality tent for team managers, invited guests and other officials.
The Kids Corporate League, sponsored by MTN Uganda will also be in place and the Corporate XI team will be revamped.
Besides the on field battles, corporate organizations will also tussle it out for organization off the field, supportiveness, smartness, time management, among other values of life.
Record winners Hotel Africana won the overall title in 2022 with a total of 326 points.


Individual Discipline top performers:
Centenary Bank (117 Points) won football, SCD Darling (40 Points) was victorious in netball, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) – (26 Points) clinched pool-table, Hotel Africana championed swimming with 64 points, MTN Uganda 40 points) was outstanding in basketball, Nile Breweries Limited (15 points) took the supportiveness gong and Hotel Africana (40 points) smiled home with the Tug of War accolade.
