Michael Karanga won the 2023 Windsor classic golf tournament at the Windsor Golf Hotel and country club Kiambu road in Nairobi city, Kenya.

Karanga, a member of Kiambu golf club registered a total of 218 gross in three rounds (71, 79 and 68), which is +2 to the par.

He was two strokes better than Lugazi based Mehta Golf club’s Godfrey Nsubuga (220).

Nsubuga recorded 73, 75 and 74 in three rounds (+4).

Bhavnish Chandaria (222) finished third, John Lejirma (224) came fourth and Josphat Rono (225) completed the top five.

Prize money:

Karanga claimed Kshs. 115,000 (at least Ugx. 3,303,846.21), Nsubuga earned Kshs. 69,000 (at least Ugx. 1,982,307.72) and Chandaria took home Kshs 46,000 (at least Ugx. 1,321,538.48), among others.

Vipingo Ridge golf club’s Naomi Wafula was the most outstanding female golfer scoring a total gross of 231 (76, 79, 76) to finish joint 8th as Peter Macharia.

Both golfers Wafula and Macharia earned Kshs. 18,000 (UGX. 517,123.75) each.

Only the top 20 golfers received prize monies.

The championship was organized by Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, The Glenlivet as well as Kenya Golf Union (KGU).
