The 13th edition of the Ntare Lions League is heading to the tourism city of Jinja and the action will happen at the Pitstop Lounge Rugby Grounds.
The finale will be the climax after six months of football action during the regular season during which 19 teams compete for the honour to be in the final.
The final this year will feature two 1st time finalists with FC Kalele (2010 – 2015) and TY Omujuma (2009 – 2014) competing for the shield. This will be the 1st time in four editions that the final will not feature either FC Ebicuncu or Nshera FC.
Before this mouth-watering clash, there will be a friendly match between the Ntare Lions League Select and Ntare Old Boys Association (NSOBA), and another between FC Bweras (Bweranyangi Girls Old Girls) and MH Holistics of the Mary Hill High School Old Girls Association.
The rest of the Ntare Lions League teams will play placement matches in the morning session.
Before teams start playing their placement matches, at 10am, there will be a visit to Balitwegomba School of the Blind which will form part of the league’s corporate social responsibility efforts, an activity that they will be undertaking with Rotary.

The NLL finale is always a climax of 20 weekends of Sunday soccer fun and networking amongst Ntare School Alumni cohorts. As such, it’s a celebration of bonds, a reigniting of memories, and a chance to network. For this year’s finale we have partnered with a number of corporate entities, social clubs, sister alumni leagues and performing artists to create a memorable experience for all.

The Kyabazinga of Busoga HRH Wilberforce Gabula is expected to grace the finale as he welcomes the Lions League to Busoga land.
For most of the alumni, this will be an experience for them as they break barriers by taking the league into unfamiliar territory. The party to Jinja will most definitely stretch into Sunday morning as there is a lot more to the Lions League than just football. There is no cover charge for anyone who wants to attend the finale in Jinja.
