Sports Club Villa moved top of the Uganda Premier League table for the first time this season after securing a 1-0 win over Busoga United on Friday.
The Jogoos needed a late winner from Frank Muna Kalule to overcome relegation threatened Busoga United at Kakindu Stadium.
Kalule scored the lone goal of the game in the 81st minute, a result that took the record Champions top of the table.
This was the first time SC Villa completed a double over the Jinja based side. They won the reverse fixture with a similar scoreline in Wankulukuku.
SC Villa have 37 points, two above KCCA FC who host Maroons FC on Saturday in Lugogo.
Coach Jackson Magera and his charges have now won four games in a row after victories over Onduparaka FC , Express FC and BUL FC.
The next outing for SC Villa will see them hosts Soltilo Bright Stars in Wankulukuku. This will mark their return to the venue since completing the five home game ban slapped on them by FUFA last year for stadium violence.
Busoga United on the other hand remain just two places above the drop zone with 18 points and will travel to Arua to face bottom placed Onduparaka FC.
