Villa is my club and i hope to return one day - Rwanda's Atuheirwe Kipson

Rwanda’s U-20 international and APR forward Atuheirwe Kipson has reiterated to kawowo sports how much he misses Uganda and his former club SC.Villa. The striker who netted the second goal in the Wasps 2-0 over Hippos was part of the Villa players that struck over salary arrears in 2010.

“It was a bad feeling exiting SC Villa but the conditions couldn’t allow me to play for the club at that time”, said Kipson. “SC.Villa was my first big club and it transformed me into the player am today. I miss Villa Park, my former team mates and the fans. I hope to return one day”, he added.

On Ugandan football, Kipson lamented that Uganda has many talented players pointing out former team mates Steven Bengo and Ntambi Chrizestom as among the best he has ever played with but insisted poor administration is retarding the growth of the game.

On comparison between Uganda and Rwanda, Kipson said, “There is much difference but in Rwanda, footballers are treasured and well paid unlike here”. He concluded by stating that Uganda is his second home and he hopes one day before he retires, he’ll play for SC.Villa again.
